Beer brings people together. Beer is something to enjoy. Beer is an experience. And a salon is a place where guests receive a warm welcome. Put those things together and you get De Biersalon.

What began as a beer shop in Melick in 2021 has grown into a specialist shop in Echt and a webshop filled with exceptional beers from around the world. We now offer more than 1,500 different beers. On average, we add 100 new beers to our range every week. There is always something new to discover.

De Biersalon was founded by Roel. From 2018 onwards, his love of good beer grew into a passion. He completed a StiBON course and continued building his knowledge by tasting different beers, discovering breweries and learning more every day.

Today, De Biersalon has a whole team of enthusiasts. Everyone brings their own tastes, knowledge and special interests. What connects us? The pleasure of discovering something new and helping you find truly good beer.

how we select our beers

Not every beer automatically becomes part of our range. We consider quality, freshness, ratings and the experiences of other beer enthusiasts. We also trust our own knowledge, tasting experience and curiosity.

We look for breweries with an identity of their own. Breweries that know their craft, make good beers or are willing to try something new. Alongside established names, we give smaller and emerging breweries a place when their beers impress us.

A beer should add something to our selection. That could be an unusual style, an inventive recipe, an interesting story or simply a beer we think our customers will love.

how we look after freshness

Freshness matters for many beer styles. Time can affect the flavour of hop-forward beers such as IPA, NEIPA, DIPA and TIPA. When buying beers, we therefore pay attention to production dates, transport times and delivery conditions.

Once the beers arrive, we store them under suitable conditions and review our range regularly. We take each beer style into account. Some beers are best enjoyed as fresh as possible, while certain strong and barrel aged beers can continue to develop over time.

We buy carefully, refresh our range regularly and make new beers available as quickly as possible.

how we discover new breweries

We discover breweries in many different ways. We follow the international craft beer scene, speak with brewers and importers and visit beer festivals. Special releases, other enthusiasts’ experiences and suggestions from our customers also introduce us to new names.

When a brewery catches our attention, we explore its story, range and beer quality. Tasting plays an important part: ultimately, we want to know what a beer has to offer in the glass.

With so many breweries and releases available, we make considered choices. We look at quality, consistency, freshness, availability and how the beers reach us. We also consider what a brewery adds to our existing selection.

This brings established favourites and promising new names together in our range.

The European craft beer world is large, varied and constantly evolving. We bring together beers from different breweries and countries and help enthusiasts find their way through that selection.

We look within and beyond Europe for exceptional beers and make them available to customers in the Netherlands and other European countries. You can combine beers from several breweries in one order and explore different flavours and styles side by side.

We also give smaller and emerging breweries a place in our range, helping more enthusiasts discover beers they may not have come across before.

Behind De Biersalon is an enthusiastic team with different knowledge, preferences and special interests. Together, we select the beers, keep the webshop up to date, carefully pack orders and help our customers in the shop and online.

Roel

I’m Roel, founder of De Biersalon and, above all, a lover of truly good beer. Since 2018, I have been exploring craft and speciality beer in greater depth. I completed a StiBON course and learned through tasting, discovering breweries and exchanging knowledge. That curiosity has stayed with me. Every day, I enjoy looking for exceptional beers to share with you.

Luuk

I’m Luuk, and I have been involved with De Biersalon for a long time. With my own brewery, Aspro Brews, I know beer from both the glass and the brewing kettle. I use that knowledge and experience to discover exceptional beers and help you find something that really suits your taste. I’m always happy to share my enthusiasm for beer.

Sanne

I’m Sanne, and I have been involved with De Biersalon since the very first day. I handle a wide range of things behind the scenes and have watched the business grow from the beginning. My own speciality is wine. Completing WSET Level 2 helped me deepen my knowledge, and I’m happy to help you find a lovely bottle. You can come to us for advice on both beer and wine.

I’m Cas, part of the De Biersalon team. My love of beer started long before I began working here. I enjoy discovering new breweries and exceptional beers and sharing that enthusiasm with our customers. With a fresh perspective and growing knowledge, I’m happy to help you find something delicious.

Øllie

I’m Øllie, Head of Security and De Biersalon’s official charmer. My name comes from the Danish word øl, meaning beer. Don’t expect extensive beer knowledge from me, but when it comes to cuddles, attention and welcoming customers, I’m definitely the team specialist.
