What started as a beer shop in Melick in 2021 has grown into a specialist beer store in Echt and an online shop filled with exceptional beers from around the world. Today, we offer more than 1,500 different beers, with an average of 100 new arrivals every week. So there is always something new to discover.
De Biersalon was founded by Roel. From 2018 onwards, his love of good beer developed into a true passion. He completed a StiBON beer education course, but learned most of all by tasting many different beers, discovering breweries and expanding his knowledge every day.
Today, De Biersalon is no longer just Roel, but a complete team of beer lovers. Everyone brings their own taste, knowledge and specialism, but we all share the same drive: helping you find truly great beer.

We do this with a large and constantly changing selection, personal attention and honest advice. We do not simply want to sell you a beer. We want to help you find one that you will be genuinely excited about.

HOW WE SELECT OUR BEERS
Not every beer or brewery is automatically added to our selection. We consider quality, freshness, reputation, ratings and the experiences of other beer lovers. But numbers never tell the whole story. That is why we also rely on our own knowledge, tasting experience and curiosity.
We look for breweries with a clear identity. Breweries that understand their craft, consistently produce great beer or have the courage to try something new. We do not focus solely on large and established names. Smaller and emerging breweries also deserve a place in our selection when their beers convince us.
Every beer needs to add something to our range. That could be exceptional quality, an unusual beer style, an innovative recipe, an interesting story or simply a beer we believe our customers will genuinely enjoy.
HOW WE PROTECT FRESHNESS
Freshness is essential for many beer styles. With hoppy beers such as IPA, NEIPA, DIPA and TIPA in particular, time can make a significant difference. That is why we consider production dates, transport times and the way beers are handled and delivered when making our purchasing decisions.
Once the beers arrive, we store them under suitable conditions and regularly check our selection. We consider the characteristics of each beer style: some beers are best enjoyed as fresh as possible, while others need time or can continue to develop as they age.
By constantly renewing our selection, purchasing stock carefully and making new beers available quickly, we help ensure that you can enjoy them as the brewery intended.
HOW WE DISCOVER AND SELECT NEW BREWERIES
We discover new breweries in many different ways. We follow developments within the international craft beer world, speak with brewers and importers, visit beer festivals and keep a close eye on new and exciting names. Ratings, special releases, experiences shared by other beer lovers and recommendations from our customers also help us find interesting breweries.
When a brewery catches our attention, we explore its story, range and the quality of its beers. Then comes the most important part: tasting. Because ultimately, it is not only about what people say about a brewery, but what happens in the glass.
With so many breweries and new releases around the world, we have to make careful choices. We look beyond reputation and ratings, considering quality, consistency, freshness, availability and how the beers reach us. A brewery must also add something meaningful to our existing selection.

OUR ROLE IN THE EUROPEAN CRAFT BEER WORLD
The European craft beer world is large, diverse and constantly evolving. We see it as our role to bring breweries, importers and beer lovers closer together.
We search for exceptional beers from both within and beyond Europe and make them accessible to craft beer lovers in the Netherlands and other European countries. By bringing beers from many different breweries together in one selection and one order, you do not need to order from each brewery separately. Instead, you can easily discover and compare beers from different countries.
At the same time, we offer a platform to smaller and emerging breweries that we believe deserve more attention. In this way, we help exceptional beers reach a wider European audience while contributing to a diverse and innovative craft beer landscape.

I’m Roel, founder of De Biersalon and, above all, a lover of truly great beer. Since 2018, I have been exploring the world of craft and speciality beer in ever greater depth. I completed a StiBON beer education course, but learned most of all by tasting many different beers, discovering breweries and sharing knowledge with other beer lovers. That curiosity has never disappeared. Every day, I still enjoy searching for exceptional beers that I cannot wait to share with you.

I’m Luuk and I have been part of De Biersalon for a long time. Through my own brewery, Aspro Brews, I know beer not only from the glass, but also from the brewing kettle. I enjoy using that knowledge and experience to discover exceptional beers together with you and to help you find one that truly suits your taste. Sharing my enthusiasm for beer with you is one of the best parts of what I do.

I’m Sanne and I have been involved with De Biersalon from the very beginning. I take care of all kinds of things behind the scenes and have watched the business grow into what it is today. My own specialism is wine. By completing WSET Level 2, I have expanded my knowledge and I am always happy to help you find a beautiful bottle. This means that De Biersalon now offers plenty of expertise not only in beer, but in wine too.
